Jean Souders has been active professionally in sound for twenty years, juggling jobs in music, sound reinforcement, sound recording, and sound for picture. Most satisfying aspect of production sound: stripping men nearly naked to strap 'em with wireless mics.
If it has to do with sound, Jean Souders has done it. Starting sometime last millennium by attaining a music degree from the #1 party school in the nation, she promptly began her career in food service.
Playing vibes, drums and keyboards in several never-did-get-signed bands, she learned music recording born of necessity.
After one too many bar gigs and restaurant jobs, Souders enrolled in the Full Sail trade school, graduating Co-Valedictorian from their then fledgling Video/Film program. This put her on a new track: picture over sound. She became a video camera operator/DP, producer, production mixer, boom op and all-'round hired gun.
Jump two hundred shoots later: The Summer of 3GT: stuffing seven people and gear into a studio apartment, twelve hours a day for two weeks could easily yield disaster, but Michaela gently moved always forward, keeping the crew at peace, the actors comfortable, and the schedule sane.
Memorable mishap: locking Hardeen in the underground (read: no cel service) garage for several hours. A good nervous laugh was had on that one! (Though it's doubtful Hardeen's laughing, yet.) Regarding "Love Songs Of A Third Grade Teacher" Souders immensely enjoyed musing over someone else's dysfunctional love life, for a change.
